Mary Bell
My story was woven around my maternal grandmother, Mary, who was born during the Second World War. She wrote a long letter to her father with the help of a typewriter when he was away fighting in the war. I decided to metamorphose my grandmother’s face into a typewriter. As both of them serve a huge purpose in life. I chose a worn-out typewriter because it had been used to its extent but still had some beauty in it, like my grandmother. The typewriter is resting as it has been overused and is tired like my grandmother, who worked for others her whole life and now has retired and is still strong even with her battle with Dementia.
