Through The Looking Glass

I associate my family with spectacles as everyone in my family wears them.
I wanted to portray how I saw my family and so decided to make a metal sculpture at a summer workshop with Arzan Khambatta, a famous sculptor.
I learned hot metal techniques during this project like welding, firing and also learned different ways of showing textures like stippling and spray painting.
To me this depicted a version of my family tree and held people who were extremely important to me.
